Prior to entering private practice, Attorney Galvin worked for years as a Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney where he prosecuted thousands of criminal offenses. As Superior Court prosecutor in the Boston Gang Unit, Attorney Galvin prosecuted cases involving motor vehicular homicides, armed home invasions, robberies, kidnappings, armed assaults, drug trafficking and school zone violations, firearm violations and shootings. He handled those cases from start to finish, including supervising investigations, conducing Grand Jury investigations and indictments, arguing motions, and trying and winning jury trials. In addition to his duties as a gang unit prosecutor, Attorney Galvin also served as the “on call” prosecutor for the Boston Police Department for the downtown Boston, Jamaica Plain, Hyde Park and Brighton neighborhoods. He regularly went to crime scenes to assist the police, reviewed search warrants, trained officers on criminal law and procedure and attended monthly community meetings. He also served the community by volunteering as an Instructor for the Citizen’s Schools’ after-school mock trial program for students in grades six through eight at the McCormack Middle School.
