"About a year and a half ago, I was falsely charged with a serious crime. I was extremely fortunate to meet with Virginia as she generously accepted my legal aid certificate, something not all lawyers are willing to do. Not only that, but she was willing to travel between Ottawa, Cornwall, and Kingston multiple times to meet with me and attend court in my stead. Throughout each meeting, Virginia exuded a professional and caring presence. She is very straightforward and honest, as from the beginning, she made it clear that it would be a long process and that victory was not a certainty. However, throughout the entire process she always made sure I understood what was going to happen and what my options were. Even though the case ended up going to trial, she never stopped fighting for me in court. She stood strong and confident the whole time and I am happy to say we won in the end. I could not have done it without Virginia's services. Although it was a long and stressful ordeal, as I was deeply concerned with the impact this case would have on me, knowing Virginia was on my side definitely eased my worries.
