"This firm has been a complete money pit. I’ve worked with some of the top family law attorneys in Florida — at hourly rates of $700–$800 — and ironically, they end up costing less than Vazquez de Lara. Why? Because those top attorneys actually get the work done right, efficiently, and strategically. This firm, on the other hand, relies on inexperienced, fresh-out-of-law-school associates (who they refer to as “pods”) to handle complex divorce and custody matters with little to no real supervision. These junior attorneys simply don’t know what they’re doing yet — and in court, it shows. The lack of confidence and competence is embarrassing to watch, and unfortunately, it hurts your case. The billing structure is another trap. They use an evergreen retainer, and somehow, without much substantive legal work being done, you find yourself being charged by two attorneys at once, plus admin or office support. There is no cost control, and if you raise concerns or demand accountability, they simply stop working on your case and leave you hanging. They repeatedly promise legal work they don’t actually deliver, and the level of skill needed for high-stakes litigation just isn’t there. This model might work for cookie-cutter uncontested matters, but for anything serious, you’re better off hiring a seasoned attorney with actual court experience — even at a higher hourly rate. Avoid."

"A disappointing and expensive experience. Hiring this firm was, unfortunately, one of the worst decisions I made during an already difficult time in my life. Despite paying $1,500 monthly, communication was poor from the start. Most troubling is that, on several occasions, I myself was the one who identified errors in the other party's case that benefited me, not my attorney. At the mediation, my assigned attorney wasn't even present, and the person who replaced her had no knowledge of my case. During that process, retroactive child support calculations made by the other party were presented, and my legal representation simply accepted them without question or consultation, without even asking if those numbers were correct or if there were factors that worked in my favor, such as the nights or weekends my daughter spent with me. I had to go into debt of over $14,000 to cover the fees, and I still ended up accepting the other party's terms, simply because I could no longer afford further legal representation. At no point did I feel genuine interest in helping me or at least trying to minimize the financial and emotional damage. The experience left me with a profound feeling of having paid a lot for very little. Unfortunately, instead of receiving legal support during a difficult time, I felt more anguish and frustration added to an already painful situation. I didn't perceive empathy, follow-up, or genuine commitment to my case. Everything felt distant, impersonal, and focused solely on billing, lacking the attention or professionalism one expects when turning to a lawyer for help. Even at the close of the case, when I asked to adjust the child support effective date—a simple and reasonable request given my circumstances—it simply wasn't done. Upon reviewing the documents already signed by the judge, the date remained the same. It was further evidence that, even in the smallest details, I wasn't listened to. Furthermore, on multiple occasions I sent emails or made calls that went unanswered. It was me who had to follow up, insist, and remind me of important matters. This basic lack of attention reflects a total disconnect and a clear lack of professionalism. In the end, I was left with a debt of over $14,000, which may not be much to them, but it leaves me in a precarious financial situation. The most frustrating thing is that the final result is practically the same as if I hadn't had a lawyer. Despite always fulfilling my responsibilities as a father and even paying more child support than I was legally required to before the lawsuit, I ended up with a settlement that only favored the other party. In short, this firm is highly recommended... as long as you're on the other side of the case. I'm not writing this out of anger, but with the intention of helping others make more informed decisions. In difficult times, you need more than just a signature to draft documents: you need commitment, communication, and empathy. I found none of that here."

"At first, I was concerned that I had jumped the gun because I had a VERY short-term marriage with no kids and only 1 marital property between us, and the divorce was moving slowly. BUT when it came down to the nitty gritty details and the settle agreement meeting Jackie was ON POINT. We were able to reach an agreement quickly and I was divorced within a week of that meeting. I am very thankful for Jackie and her team!"
