"I hired Lucy to assist me in responding to a wrongful accusation made against my RN license. Unfortunately, my experience with her was deeply disappointing and, in my opinion, detrimental to my case and bank account. At the outset, Lucy assured me over the phone that I would likely be able to continue working throughout the process. However, this turned out to be inaccurate. As the situation developed, it became clear that she lacked a thorough understanding of the licensing and disciplinary processes specific to registered nurses. This misrepresentation significantly affected my ability to prepare for the implications of the case—including the potential for mandated participation in an intervention program, which would require me to stop working. This critical detail was not explained or even acknowledged by Lucy until I brought it to her attention myself. Throughout our communication, Lucy made several verbal assurances that were not followed through with written documentation. I repeatedly requested copies of all paperwork relating to my case—documents that are both mine by right and essential to my ability to participate in my own defense. These requests were often dismissed with patronizing remarks suggesting that I “wouldn’t understand” the documents or should “just trust her.” This approach not only undermined my autonomy as a client but also demonstrated a lack of professional respect and transparency. Lucy’s engagement with my case was minimal. It appeared that she simply modified a generic response template with my personal information and submitted it on my behalf. She did not research or explain the consequences of the proposed intervention program, nor did she explore any alternative strategies or negotiate on my behalf. Instead, I found myself doing the legwork—obtaining critical information, following up with agencies, and ultimately, informing Lucy of updates she should have known or pursued independently. She also failed to maintain consistent communication. At multiple points, she became unresponsive for weeks at a time, ignoring repeated requests for updates and documentation relating to my case. This level of unresponsiveness, especially during such a high-stakes matter involving my livelihood, was extremely distressing. Despite the lack of meaningful support or progress on my case, Lucy declined to offer any refund of the flat fee she collected giving me limited assistance. In fact, our working relationship concluded only after I provided her with an important case update, which she then confirmed with the Attorney General—finally forwarding my case documents only at that late stage. In my view, Lucy did not act in my best interests, nor did she demonstrate the diligence, competence, or client advocacy expected from a professional attorney handling a licensing defense. I would not recommend her services to any licensed professional facing a similar situation. There are other attorneys—such as Laura R., Esq. of the SJH firm—who are far more knowledgeable, responsive, and effective when dealing with complex matters before the BRN. I am sharing this review in the hope that it helps others avoid the challenges I faced. If you are a licensed professional whose career is on the line, I strongly encourage you to seek legal counsel who will advocate for you, keep you informed, and treat your case with the seriousness it deserves."
