Co-founder of Kinsella and Foley Defense, PLLC, Robert J. Foley serves clients throughout the state of Minnesota. He focuses his practice on DWI/DUI Defense and most areas of Criminal Defense. Attorney Foley has represented clients in the metro area and statewide in both Criminal DWI/DUI proceedings as well as Civil proceedings challenging license revocation, plate impoundment and vehicle forfeiture. Mr. Foley obtained a Bachelor of Science in history with a Minor in psychology from Iowa State University in 2004. He later pursued his legal education, graduating from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, St. Paul, in 2009. While in law school, he served as a Certified Student Attorney with the Minnesota Public Defender’s Office in Saint Paul. He was also a law clerk for a small general practice firm in Bemidji, Minnesota. Mr. Foley has had tremendous success in litigating DWI/DUI cases in the courtroom, persuading prosecutors to dismiss criminal charges and fighting for reinstatement of driving privileges and license plate impoundment. Attorney Foley has also ensured that forfeited vehicles were returned to their rightful owners on multiple occasions. He was selected by The National Trial Lawyers in 2016 and 2017 for inclusion in the list of Top 100 Trial Lawyers. Also in 2017 and 2018, he was selected for inclusion in the list of Top 10 Under 40 by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys and as a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers in 2017 and 2018. He has additionally earned recognition from his peers as seen through his receipt of an "Excellent" rating through Avvo and as Lead Counsel Verified. Always striving to remain up-to-date in his practice, Mr. Foley is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
