"Mr. Kaplow gave us such bad advice that another attorney, who reviewed our case, encouraged us to report him to an ethics committee. He encouraged us not to attend the only hearing that actually mattered. Embarrassingly, he confused our case with another in front of a judge. He was terrible at communicating (consistent feedback from other reviews). Multiple phone calls/ emails would go unanswered. He had the gall to try to charge for a conversation we hadn’t even had yet and we had been, without success, reaching out to him to have. He consistently over charged- would bill 45 minutes for a 5 minute conversation because he had to “review our case” every time we spoke. Charged 3 hours to write a 3 bullet point email (we had given him the bullet points). At the end, after he was so confident our case would have a good outcome and it did not; I asked him to name a case similar to ours that was successful, he couldn’t name a single case. We wouldn’t have wasted thousands of dollars and gone through a months-long traumatic process, if we had known that at the beginning. Awful that he took advantage of our family (and apparently others, from other reviews) during a difficult time."

"I paid Mr. Kaplow a four figure retainer, waited two and a half months, and received absolutely no tangible results. The counterparty to my complaint simply ignored Mr. Kaplow and I found Mr. Kaplow to be the exact opposite of "aggressive" - he just sat back as time passed and I had to prod him to try something else."

"Do not hire this man. He took my retainer and did nothing for me and my son. He is supposed to pride himself on helping special education families in need, but all he does is lie and lie to your face. He is lazy and unreliable and his office staff if that is what you call it really need to get their dates in order. He billed me for work I did not authorize and he was hired to write a simple letter which he never did. All he is worried about is getting paid nit your child. Save your time and energy and dont pick up the phone."
