Criminal Defense Lawyer Rajan Joshi received his Bachelors degree from the University of Central Florida in 1996, and earned his law degree with Honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 2000. While in law school, Rajan Joshi demonstrated academic excellence, earning the highly coveted Book Award in Criminal Procedure (highest grade). Mr. Joshi was also selected and employed by the Dean of Student Affairs to tutor first-year contract students and conducted his own class to prepare the students for their final exam. Mr. Joshi also worked as a legal intern at the Seminole County State Attorney's Office and at the Alachua County State Attorney's Office. The Florida Supreme Court certified him as a legal intern prior to completing law school, which allowed him the opportunity to argue six jury trials prior to graduation. Rajan Joshi scored among the Top Five Highest Scores in the Bar Exam for the entire State of Florida. Based on this performance as well as his stellar academic achievements, the Chief Judge of the Fifth District Court of Appeals selected him to be the Valedictorian speaker at the October 2000 induction ceremony for newly sworn lawyers in Orlando. Mr. Joshi is rated Excellent under Avvo's ratings of Lawyers. Rajan Joshi started his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Jacksonville, Florida. In his four years working as a state prosecutor, he further developed his trial abilities both in criminal prosecutions and in post-conviction motions. Within his first year, he was promoted to the felony division, and then based as his aggressive, ethical and superb performance as a prosecutor he was promoted to the Repeat Offender Court a year later, where he prosecuted habitual felony offenders and Violent Career Criminals for every serious crimes for his remaining two years as a prosecutor. "Being honest from my own experience I would never hire him again or recommend him to anybody. He was more interested in his profile and getting favorism from the prosecutor side than actually looking out for what I wanted. He gave me false advice, me taking Joshi advice caused me to get more jail time than I would have if I would have just stuck to what I planned . He would not let me voice my opinion . I tell people again and again to not hire him. His staff were nice but had to follow along with what Joshi was saying. Joshi is crooked and overly boast about his work when he couldn’t even give me honest legal advice. He wanted to help the prosecutor get convictions, not actually help or win my case then boast that he’s the best lawyer in the town when he’s not. It makes me sick. But this is a game most lawyers play in the system so I try not be upset at the situation but he’s definitely not the most honest lawyer. If you have a criminal case, hire someone else. He made me sign a “death” deal when I believe he knew in his heart he could of did more, but like I said he was looking for status and favor with the state and it end up costing me a lot . This is not a sincere man. He will look out for what he wants and his profile before your best interest. I would of been far more better off hiring someone else. Oh also not to mention, he is a creep! He only seen me in person a handful of times but when he did he was creepy, he pulled money out in front of me, would show me his “workout results”, made me extremely uncomfortable. I wondered with a serious situation like mine, how can his mind go that way he was supposed to be helping me. Sick boastful man from what I’ve seen. He only cares about himself. He would not let me voice my opinion he had already had it put out in his mind what he wanted before we ever had a conversation and that was to side with the prosecutors. He did not care about my case. I was young and native but if I had any advice now it would be run from this man."
