About:
Rafael was born and raised in Polk County, Florida, and graduated from Auburndale High School in 1984. Rafael received his B.A. degree from the University of Florida and his Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1997. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in April of 1998, and initially served as an Assistant Public Defender, handling a variety of cases. After just a few months as a misdemeanor attorney, Rafael was quickly promoted to Felony, where he was responsible for cases ranging from drug possession to murder. Rafael soon established himself as a confident and capable trial lawyer and in 1999 he entered private practice with a well known criminal defense law firm. After deciding to start his own law firm, he partnered with his former co-worker, William Allen. The Law Offices of Allen and Echemendia were established in February of 2000. After many successful years of representation, Rafael branched out on his own in January of 2009, and established the Echemendia Law Firm. Rafael’s practice areas are criminal defense, family law and personal injury. He presently focuses on defending individuals who have been charged with criminal matters ranging from traffic offenses, such as DUI, to drug trafficking and murder and representing parties involved in divorce and child custody matters.

"So here it is I you know don't know these this lawyer but I looked up Google civil rights attorneys because my civil rights have been violated by the sheriff's department by private citizens and their advertised in Google under civil rights attorneys but they don't take any of that case so and they didn't even want to hear my case so you tell me what they're worth"

"This firm needs to be under investigation, this guy and his staff aren't nothing but frauds. This guy and his firm charged me 1,800 dollars just to drive 45 min to the court house. Not only did he arrive late he came in with a folder drooping paper work on the ground ,so disorganized and embarrassing. He went in the court room and did not fight at all for my case didn't present and of the evidence that I took days putting together for him. And his staff is rude and doesn't have any respect for his clients. They talk to you any kind of way as if your not paying them for a service. And to make matters worse you have to deal with his staff the hole time cause the lawyer is never available. You can't get him one the phone unless it's time to pay your invoice. This firm is a joke and a scam to the public. I strongly recommend you do not waste your time unless you just want to throw your money away. If your looking for someone to help you and fight for your rights ,This place isn't it. Don't waste your money and time you will regret it."

"What a horrible paralegal this man has his offic paralegals talk about your case to other people, this man is never reachable. Do not waste your money on him. He is horrible. (Well?) his staff is horrible horrendous disrespectful just flat out rude!!! Please Do not waste your money on this Attorney I can’t even reach him to fire him what a joke !!!!
