I spend my days making sure that the Government lives up to its promises that police officers don’t lie, that prosecutors act with some semblance of honor, and that my clients get a fair shake, even if they have done something wrong. Peter E. Brill is one of only two attorneys in all of New York State — and the only attorney in the New York metropolitan area — to be certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in Criminal Law, a certification with rigorous requirements for legal knowledge and criminal trial experience. In his nearly 20 years of practice, he has extensive trial experience in state and federal court, arbitration and administrative proceedings. He has established a solid reputation with state and federal prosecutors throughout New York and practiced before nearly every administrative agency there is. He has won far more cases that he has lost for his clients in practically every county in the New York metropolitan area. He is in the Long Island and New York City area courts every single day and meets nearly every client, either in court or in the office. He has represented and defended thousands of people charged with misdemeanors and felonies in New York. A former Assistant District Attorney, he now focuses on criminal defense and representing health care and other professionals who are being investigated or fighting disciplinary charges. He graduated cum laude from Brown University and received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He was formerly an Adjunct Professor at the New York Institute of Technology. "Attorney Peter Brill was able to successfully petition the Nassau County District Court to modify and reduce the sex offender registration level for my cousin. His case happened nearly 25 years ago and it was a misdemeanor offense involving a 16 year old minor. Mr. Brill had actually been dealing with my cousin for over 12 years, and they both decided to wait to file the petition until this year. He made all of the arrangements with a psychologist to have a sex offender evaluations completed, and there was a lot of coordination involved. Even though this petituon was a relatively small matter in the grand scheme of the major cases that Attorney Brill handles now, the petition was very involved. I wanted to thank him for sticking with my cousin and prevailing with a successful outcome in court."

"This review is way past due yesterday I was reminded of the incredibly difficult time in my life during which I needed legal counsel for a serious criminal matter. Peter Brill came highly recommended and he lived up to the excellent referrals. From our first meeting I trusted that he was the best person to help me with my legal mess. Without going into specifics I was facing felony charges ( I was innocent of course) and was facing trial to fight the allegations. Peter Brill was nothing short of amazing from the day we met until my acquittal ( thanks to him) almost 2 years later.
