"Avoid this guy and this firm. Really bad! Navid's poor judgment got me sanctioned 4000 in bringing the very first brief he filed for me. The court issued a OSC to sanction him as well. Obviously this is my opinion. The biggest problem is that this guy can't communicate well with his clients and he refuses to do any of the brief writing or law and motion work himself and just does trial presentations. So he is mostly at the courthouse and never available to meet with you at his office or even take phone calls. He has people under him who are very junior level and hence the firm seems to be just him without any experienced attorneys to support him and he is too busy at the courthouse to work on legal briefs for the case. I hired Navid and his firm to represent me for a family law matter. I wish I would've never done this. I have been terribly disappointed by the legal work, the communications, and strategic thinking that is necessary for success. I've only been with his firm for three or four months but thus far the results are bad and the billing is excessive. The billing is set up where their minimum billing is for one quarter of one hour. If one of their staff for Navid does five or six things during the day that all take 30 seconds each you get charged 1/4 of an hour for each 30 second piece of work. I objected to this and they reluctantly removed it from the contract but the billing was still pumped up. It doesn't seem like there is any depth to this firm and although they have dozens of people working at his office it seems that they are mostly clerical people. Immediately after hiring Navid to work on my case he gave the matter to some very junior level rookie attorney just out of law school. The judge that was assigned to the case seemed like he might not be the best judge for the matter and so Navid and his paralegal file a 170.6 challenge to remove him before we proceeded to work on the primary matter which was a request for an order to reduce alimony because of a change in circumstances that would justify lower alimony. Navid did not have time to work on my case so he decided to turn the matter over to his paralegal and a junior level attorney just out of law school rather than handling it himself to ensure that it was done well. I objected to this and wanted Navid to handle it himself but he said he would be busy in court with trials and seldom does any of the legal work himself. I objected and told him that he should've explained this before I hired him because I didn't want paralegals or junior level attorneys writing my legal briefs. He ignored me and refused to meet with me and talk about the case and how to strategize getting the challenge done and getting the request for order done. Instead he just had his paralegal and his junior level attorney work on judicial challenge. There was no research done in the beginning to determine if a judicial challenge would work. The challenge was just filed without determining the probability of success and the other side objected and requested sanctions and the judge stated at the hearing that sanctions may be warranted but continued the matter because Navid wasn't prepared to argue the matter. Navid now wants off of the case because he is worried about being sanctioned and wants me to sign substitution forms to release him. I invested a lot of money - thousands of dollars and now he just wants to quit because he made a mistake on this very first motion he filed and he doesn't want to get sanctioned and wants to get out before the sanctions are levied against him. I checked around and it seems that this guy is not well thought of or respected by other attorneys, forensic accountants or other professionals in the family law profession in Orange County. I made a mistake hiring this guy. Think carefully before you hire him!!"

"Stay away from this firm. They will give you incompetent paralegals that you have to explain things over and over and your money keeps disappearing while the case goes back in progress. I’m glad I canceled their services on time and I only lost 4 grand. Their communication, both with the client and internally, is terrible. Also, 8 months after I canceled and received the rest of my retainer money back, I received a disturbing email from their accountant, stating that I need to give them more money. This proved again how bad their internal communication is."

"Navid and his team have been exceptional since taking over my case. I had a poor experience with my first lawyer, and from the first meeting I had with Moshtael Family Law, they’ve been super attentive and responsive to my case. They have a full team of lawyers working around the clock with me to ensure the most positive outcome. They created an immediate pathway for me to start seeing my children and have been relentless in the pursuit of my custody and prenup battle. Navid is a tremendous trial lawyer and has gone to bat for me when I feel like I had no voice. I could not be happier with the services provided at Moshtael Family Law."

"Moshtael Family law has help my wife and I work so hard on a move-away order for my child. They have been exposed to the horrible actions, unprofessionalism of my ex and have responded with the urgency and strength one would hope from an attorney. Mr. Moshtael and Mrs. Wasserman know how fight in court and they know when not to over step there bounds. I am entirely grateful for their help and support with the biggest fight of my life."
