DVLawyers AI Summary:
QDRO Division focuses on assisting clients in navigating the often complex and last stages of divorce involving the division of retirement benefits. This includes the preparation and filing of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs), which are crucial for splitting retirement accounts such as 401(k)s and pensions in California. The firm aims to provide a straightforward, efficient process, allowing clients to focus on moving forward with their lives after divorce. Their approach is described as professional yet accessible, prioritizing clear communication and client education throughout the legal process. The tone of the firm reflects an understanding of the sensitive nature of these situations, showing empathy towards clients who may already be experiencing trauma from their domestic circumstances. They emphasize the importance of simplifying what can often be a convoluted process, making it clear that their goal is to alleviate the stress associated with dividing assets after a marriage ends. If you are a survivor of domestic abuse seeking assistance with the division of retirement accounts during divorce, QDRO Division may be a suitable choice for you. They appear to understand the intricacies involved and provide resources to help educate clients about their rights and options. However, consider reaching out to discuss your specific needs and ensure that their services align with your personal situation, as this firm specializes specifically in QDROs rather than broader domestic violence or family law issues.

"Do not hire this office to do your QDRO !!! Constantly asked you to sign the wrong paperwork… David does not care about his reputation… he does not care. about his clients and that his paralegal doesn’t not file correct paperwork… it took me 10 months to finally get my QDRO which was very easy as the union lawyers gave him a sample letter but refused to use it … then tells you I have 10 months to get you your QDRO … which at most should have taken a month …. Their lack of professionalism … I would not hire this firm ever again!!!! DONT HIRE THEM !!!!!!"

"Rudest lawyer I've ever encountered. Do not waste your time! After 6 months of nothing in QDRO and randomly blaming me for putting it on hold because I apparently made a call to their office to put it on hold. When I asked for court order for the hold, he "resumes it". When I asked him what has been done so far, he said "your problem will be handled and we're done talking" and hangs up on me. Very dismissive. I'm not sure how they allow him to practice still. From the reviews, it's apparently not just my experience with him."

"A very disappointing experience and I would not use him if your wanting anything done as his timing will not be your timing. You will end up taking matters in your own hands and doing the leg work yourself. Do not recommend and a very bad experience and time and money lost!"

"After a full year of not preparing and submitting the paperwork the for my QDRO and blaming Riverside county court “they are closed due to the Coronavirus “ , (they closed 2 weeks after all paperwork was submitted to the office) the family court was only closed for about 6 weeks in total. After many excuses paper work was submitted only to be denied by the court. Neither David Ruegg or Natasia Ruegg knew how to fix it. Both blamed the judges saying they don’t understand QDRO’s. The court clerks were the ones that corrected the attorneys mistakes. This was after over a year. Do NOT use these attorneys to do your QDRO submissions. They might know how to do the divorce side of it but they definitely don’t know how to do the final steps of collecting. I did file with the State Bar. Eventually I did get all but $40.00 of the fee I paid, I don’t have a clue what that was for."
