About:
Russell Knight was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. His family moved to the United States in 1991. Russell Knight attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Computers Systems. After two years working as a computer programmer for a Fortune 50 company, Russell Knight decided that he’d rather work with people than machines and he enrolled in the University of Illinois College of Law in Urbana, Illinois. Upon graduating from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2006, Russell Knight began working for a small general practice law firm in Chicago, Illinois. The majority of the clientele at this law firm were Spanish speaking so Russell spent his free time during this period learning Spanish. In 2009, Russell resigned from the small law firm and moved to Mexico to perfect his spoken Spanish. A few months later, Russell Knight returned to Chicago, Illinois to open up The Law Office of Russell D. Knight. While Russell Knight always focused on family law, The Law Offices of Russell D. Knight began exclusively practicing family law in 2013. Russell Knight much prefers to do one thing, Family Law, and do it well. Russell Knight still, however, uses a great deal of his general knowledge of Criminal, Immigration and Bankruptcy Law in his Family Law practice. Russell Knight has been working with attorney Rahul Iyer since 2015. A partnership or an associate position is too restrictive for either Russell or Rahul. Therefore, they co-counsel almost all their cases while sharing in expenses. Russell and Rahul are both originally from Canada and enjoy each other’s dry Canadian humor (or as we spell it, “humour”). Russell Knight enjoys learning new languages, running, and cooking in his spare time. View More ›
DVLawyers AI Summary:
The law firm of Russell D. Knight focuses primarily on family law, particularly divorce and related matters. They offer services in various areas including child support, alimony, and the division of marital assets, addressing the complexities often involved in family disputes. Their emphasis on a comprehensive approach suggests that they understand the emotional and logistical challenges that clients face during such tumultuous times. They acknowledge the difficulties that arise in divorce scenarios, particularly when there are issues of emotional distress or safety concerns, such as in cases involving orders of protection. Their articles reflect a trauma-informed approach, aiming to educate clients about their rights and options without using overly legal jargon that may be intimidating. However, it is important for potential clients to consider their specific needs and circumstances when choosing a lawyer. While the firm seems well-equipped to handle sensitive situations, survivors should feel empowered to seek consultations with multiple attorneys to ensure they find the best personal and professional match for their unique situations.

"Terry DeSalvo Jr. was a great lawyer regarding a prenup I was about to sign prior to my wedding date. He read everything thoroughly and also took his time with me. He explained everything as well as the language I needed to know page by page. I highly recommend Terry to anyone I know. Thank you again for your dedication and legal expertise Terry!"

"I left a voicemail and Russell called me back, he quickly answered my question pertaining to custody law. His quick and free legal advice gave me the information needed to talk to law enforcement who then help me retrieve my children and put the children back in my custody as my custody agreement stated. I offered to pay for his quick answer which he gave me for free and if I needed his assistance further I absolutely would engage his services! Thanks Russell for your “Time Of The Essence” response and legal advice that quickly put my children back into my care and custody. You’re number is saved on my speed dial!"

"Seth LaPidus and Russell are the A-team. Faced with a very difficult divorce and an even more difficult and unethical opposing counsel, they handled my case with professionalism and were very responsive throughout the process. Highly recommend this firm, especially Seth who mostly handled my case."
