About:
I am a Rochester native with over 43 years of experience practicing family law in the Olmsted County and Southeast Minnesota area. I was admitted to practice in 1980. In addition to representing clients in all of the counties in Minnesota’s Third Judicial District, I have regularly represented clients in Goodhue, Blue Earth, and Faribault counties located in the First and Fifth Judicial Districts, as well as other judicial districts throughout Minnesota. I am a graduate of St. Olaf College in 1976 and Hamline University School of Law in 1980. I have taken particular interest in advocating for the best interest of children. I have served as a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem, and have extensive child advocacy experience having served previously as legal counsel for the then existing Olmsted County Guardian Ad Litem program. I was a member of Olmsted County’s Children’s Justice Initiative Team, a joint venture of the Minnesota Supreme Court and the Minnesota Department of Human Services in each of Minnesota’s 87 counties to improve the processing of cases and outcomes for children in child protection cases. I have extensive motion and trial experience, however, I believe that alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provides both parties with the opportunity to achieve a positive outcome through cooperation and respect, while avoiding the financial and emotional burdens that often result from litigation. I have served as an Early Neutral Evaluator and have represented many clients through mediation, arbitration, Social and Financial Early Neutral Evaluations (SENE/FENE), and other forms of ADR. I also assist clients with simple and one-trust Wills, Power of Attorney and Health Care declarations. I have represented clients preparing Antenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements. I have two extensively experienced paralegals and a legal assistant to ensure efficient and timely legal services and a reasonable price.

"He sucks! Retiring so decided to take my $10000 and then had to fire his ass before I lost everything! Glad he decided to use people on his way out!"

"Mr. Orwoll and his team (specifically Taylor) are amazing. I had what seemed like at the time an impossible case with child custody and trying to move from one side of the US to the other, but they were very patient and informative every step of the way!"

"Attorney Orwoll, was the absolute best! His staff, Taylor and Dana, were wonderful and so professional and caring to work with. I was dealing with a horrible divorce. They made it possible to get through this, awful life experience. People may say that, "it's their job and you're paying them to work for you" but it's so much more with, Attorney Orwoll. They were honest and tough. No one else could have fought against and won, with my ex husband. The only outcome I wanted was a fair one and they provided it."
