"Cook County staff have built a culture of complacency. Phones go unanswered, productivity is low, and gossip replaces work. Leadership should note: automation and outsourced call centers are coming. Unions will not prevent it. AI will streamline processes and cut waste, displacing those who failed to perform. When these employees later find themselves on the other side of the phone line or in person, they will face the same neglect they once showed. By contrast, DuPage County currently runs a tighter operation, though it too will face disruption from AI."

"Website states call if you need help. I call and you have to show up in person to get help. Never a straight answer in Chicago"

"We were here for passport services and the staff was super helpful and efficient. We were extremely apprehensive before going cause of the low ratings but the passport services were just fine. Some info for folks visiting for passport services: - it’s on 12th floor 1202, you can proceed directly to the floor, don’t have to check-in or anything. - we went mid day and were one of 3 families there, not super busy. - we had all our documents and money orders all sorted out, I think that made it a very smooth experience. - they provide photograph services for $10, carry cash if needed."

"Good luck getting a hold of someone or having them call you back. When I finally did get a call back they told me I had to call a different number. That number was wrong. When I found the correct number it just relayed me to a full voicemail and then hung up. Typical government at work."
