"After over two years as a patient at Payne and Holloway, I never expected to be treated with such indifference and outright disregard. My recent visit seeking care for my son was not only disappointing—it was dehumanizing. Despite providing the exact same proxy documentation that was accepted without issue for my daughter just one week prior, the receptionist arbitrarily refused to accept it for my son. There was no explanation beyond her personal dissatisfaction, no willingness to consult a supervisor, and no attempt to assist us in the midst of his loud, painful cough echoing through the waiting room. Instead of compassion or professionalism, we were treated like strangers begging for care, not loyal patients with a documented history. I was then asked for my personal Social Security and driver’s license numbers—information I should not be required to provide as I am not the financially responsible party. The Department of Human Services is, as clearly stated in the legal proxy I presented. That fact was blatantly ignored. What’s worse is the racial undertone that hovered over the entire interaction. As a Black mother, I am used to navigating a system that often fails us, but this experience felt particularly sharp. It’s as if this practice wore its bias proudly—disregarding my son's medical needs and placing unnecessary barriers between a sick Black child and the care he deserves. If this is how Payne and Holloway defines “care,” then they are not just part of the problem in American healthcare—they are actively perpetuating it. The receptionist may write me off as just another “angry Black woman,” but what she truly did today was deny care to a vulnerable Black boy who needs it most. Congratulations on furthering the gap in health equity. Shame on you."

"always long wait, clinic is dirty, careless staffs terrible front desk service. i switch my child to the other medical provider, and need the medical record to be send over, it's been over two weeks, the new office still haven't received it. I called and ask for it to be send again, i stopped by the office in person, they just kept saying office manager is not there, they can't do it, everytime they asked me to leave the message and will pass over to whoever handle this, i didn't hear anything back. And when i called back again today, spoke with two front desk staffs, one just likely to respond "I don't know" and put me on hold, the other one said there's no message left from me, she said they send the record one time, and my child not patient of the office anymore, what now, I can't get my child's medical record? they just don't want to give it to me. i wish there's 0 star i will rate them!"

"Great place for my kids. Never had a problem I call and let them know my concerns for my kids, instantly ask to bring them in. One child was hospitalized , they called after hours to check in and make sure we didn’t need anything. I appreciate the staff"

"Update: Every since Dr. Payne and Holloway retired, this place has gone downhill. I would not recommend this place at all. Unprofessional, lazy, does not communicate with you, etc. I had to come back and find this review Very good people. Help with all your children needs. So glad i tranferred my children to them. They are family oriented."
