"I'm sure you've seen other people report their kids having gotten worse rather then better. I'm one of the kids who was there. They use fear, abuse and many other not good tactics to "help" kids. I saw many of my fellow peers get thrown aganst walls. Your kid won't tell you this because there scared. I stood up for myself and now there halfway out of business. Ty for my parents and county social worker for support in the shutdown. Dont let your kids go here and if you have to don't sign anything that removes your ability to sue. Aid me in shutting these guys down fully by having your kids be less scared of them and say what actually happened. And don't let them feed you stories on why your kid came home with bruises. It wasent them it was the staff. I have trauma and ptsd because of these people. Dont let your kids feel what I got."

"You know if most the kids don’t get better after going here you know maybe use common sense and do a meeting 1 month and 6 months and 1 year after leaving the program, because if you were a good program you would WANT to know how to improve to ACTUALLY help the kids instead of TRAUMATIZE them more. Everyone I went to northwoods with and know that went to this he’ll say it didn’t help them, kids who didn’t do drvgs before this place started doing them, even at the school daily. The staff sexually harass, maybe listen to the kids who went here, because or else your kid probably gonna end up hating you for awhile after because you made them go there. They literally do mental abuse and always treated residential to make u fear so you listen and do work, they use intimidation, and punishment instead of encouragement and rewarding for good behavior. It’s beyond backwards so you can imagine it only makes kids mental decline instead of increase. And I now work as a caregiver and they break so many rules I have to follow, and I only went here 2 years ago so the rules didn’t change much."

"I’d like to take a second and mention that I was a former Northwoods resident. I spent 3 1/2ish years here between 2016-2019. I spent 2 years in residential treatment on the Huskies team, and 2 years in a group home owned by the company, known as the Columbus house. While I stayed here, I grew more than I can even explain. As a child with PTSD & trauma from neglect, discrimination/bullying, I found nothing but support from the staff and other employees here. The opportunities for personal growth and life long success here were unmatchable. At Northwoods, I had the resources and connections needed to gain confidence in myself and learn valuable life skills and become my OWN person free from persecution. If your child is struggling with behavior/emotional issues, I highly recommend enrolling them here. I am proud to say I that I am a success story due to my experiences here that I wouldn’t have received anywhere else. . This place is a safe haven for children. . Mr. Woleat, Mel, Jaimie, & others, thank you"
