About:

Having been admitted to the bar in 2010, Meredith Gerhart has dedicated her legal career to various aspects of family law, with expertise in divorce, legal separation, modifications to parenting plans, adjustments to child support, paternity issues, and relocations. Beyond her private practice, Meredith assumes the role of Guardian ad Litem on the Thurston County Title 26 Guardian ad Litem registry. Court appointments frequently entrust her with the advocacy for young individuals in dependency proceedings initiated by the State of Washington. Differing from many of her colleagues, Meredith entered law school with a specific goal of becoming a family law practitioner. Her motivation stems from an unwavering commitment to minimizing potential harm to children involved in court proceedings, be it direct or indirect. On a daily basis, she actively pursues child-centered and trauma-focused representation, aiming to safeguard the well-being of the most vulnerable members of the community. Meredith's academic journey includes earning a cum laude Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Vanderbilt University, followed by the attainment of her J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law. During her tenure at Gonzaga, she notably served as the Staff Editor of the Gonzaga Law Review.

"Meredith is an intelligent, determined and knowledgeable attorney who really knows and understands the law, especially in the area of domestic abuse. Before retaining this angel, we had encountered other lawyers that were happy to take our money but provide no results because they did not know what they were doing when it came to domestic violence issues. It is a very scary situation for the victim who finally had the strength to do something about it. Meredith was both compassionate and strong when it came to the defense of my niece in this situation. We are so appreciate and thankful that we found her!"
