About:
Described by his clients as a natural-born problem-solver, Attorney Matthew A. Mishak is the best choice for helping you through your legal issues in Lorain County. After graduating summa cum laude, in the top ten percent of his class from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2006, Attorney Mishak served as an assistant Lorain County Prosecutor (LCPO) (Dennis P. Will) for six years before becoming the Chief Prosecutor for the City of Elyria. Former Prosecutor As an Assistant County Prosecutor, Attorney Mishak represented various County entities, including the Lorain County Commissioners, Lorain County Job and Family Services (LCJFS), the Lorain County Health Department, Lorain County Children Services (LCCS), the Lorain County Metroparks, the Lorain County Child Support Enforcement Agency (LCCSEA) and all of Lorain County’s eighteen townships. While Chief Prosecutor and during his tenure with the City of Elyria, Attorney Mishak tried more jury trials than any other prosecutor and, in the wake of the opiate crisis, worked with Judge Lisa Locke Graves (retired) to craft the first intervention in lieu of conviction (ILU) program at the Elyria Municipal Court (allowing first-time, non-violent drug offenders to have their cases dismissed upon successful completion of designated treatment protocols). Trial Attorney With over thirteen years of trial experience, Attorney Mishak has no qualms about taking a case to trial with a judge or jury. Opposing counsel is wise to take head when Attorney Mishak is on the other side of the table. Not only is Attorney Mishak a proficient negotiator and legal researcher, but he has also served as lead counsel in thousands of cases, including those involving OVI/DUI, Domestic Violence, Assault, Felonious Assault, Murder, Juvenile Delinquency, Truancy, Divorce, Custody and Complex Civil Litigation (i.e. Personal Injury).
