"If I could give this company zero stars I would. They are non-friendly, non-compassionate and non-negotiable. They conveniently billed me over $4000 for a floor replacement after maintenance had already done their walk-through and I had moved. The local staff has always been friendly, but this management company is as bad as it gets, and I honestly would never choose to rent from them again based on their non-communication and paltry attitude towards it residents."

"Current resident with a property of theirs. Don’t ever count on resolution at the property level or expect to reach out to anyone at home office. I pay over $30k a year and I cannot (for almost a year) be respected enough to chat with someone who oversees the people who manage the property."

"Just check out the complaints for UDR on Better Business Bureau and on searching them up. It seems like a common theme that the company has adversarial and obscure practices that, among other things, (i) makes it hard to talk to the appropriate personnel for issues you're trying to get resolved, expect email communication only or a endless trails of referrals leading to dead-ends without responses, though it would not be surprising if they comment on their google reviews, (ii) has a practice of hidden fees such as obscure utility pricing practices and forced exclusive contracts with internet service providers that are poor in quality, and (iii) generally difficult practices and management focused on maximizing how much you pay and minimizing how much they are responsible for their tenant's experience and quality of living. These themes seem to be pretty consistent across their nationwide properties. Save yourself the trouble of dealing with UDR if you can, but if you have to interact with them, at least be aware of countless tenants' experiences."

"Google Review: ★☆☆☆☆ I am beyond horrified by my experience with this leasing office. From the moment I started my apartment lease application, I was met with a complete lack of communication. It felt like I was dealing with a group of people who had no idea what they were doing. On the day I was supposed to receive my keys, they attempted a blatant bait-and-switch by increasing my rent on an already signed lease and saying I had to additionally pay for parking. It was a jump of over 250 a month from the lease I originally signed. How is this even legal the day I was picking up my keys? Luckily, besides the lease I had already signed, I had a paper trail stating that my lease did include parking. The lease verbiage was so unclear that even the staff seemed confused about what I was actually paying for. It was like a scene from a bad comedy, but unfortunately, it was my life. The stress of this entire process has been overwhelming. I’ve dealt with many leasing offices in my life, but this one is, without a doubt, the worst. If you value your sanity, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This place is a nightmare and should be avoided at all costs!"
