DVLawyers AI Summary:
Marilyn A. Miller is a seasoned attorney focusing on DUI law and criminal defense in Illinois. While her website does not explicitly mention domestic violence or related areas, her expertise in legal defense can be a critical resource for individuals facing serious allegations, including those stemming from domestic situations. Marilyn's approach emphasizes providing strong defenses for clients charged with DUI, which demonstrates her commitment to understanding the complexities of the law and advocating for her clients' rights. The tone of her communication appears professional yet accessible, suggesting she aims to create an environment where clients feel understood and supported. Although the primary focus is on DUI cases, individuals dealing with the aftermath of domestic violence—especially those with related legal troubles—might find some value in her empathetic approach to sensitive legal matters. However, it’s essential for survivors of domestic abuse to carefully consider whether a DUI and criminal defense lawyer aligns with their specific needs, especially if they are seeking assistance in navigating family law issues, custody, or restraining orders. Given that her practice does not explicitly cover these areas, it may be beneficial for survivors to explore additional resources or legal support specializing in domestic violence and family law for comprehensive assistance.

"I had used Bouma in 2016 to do Estate Planning and the overall experience was fairly good. Given that it has been 9 years, the Plan needs updating. I am surprised that after leaving two messages with them, nobody has bothered to call back in last two weeks! Something seems to have changed in this law firm."

"Steer clear of this firm! Don’t use. They took my retainer after review of my case and failed to help in any manner. The communication with Eric was distant and non engaging, he was happy to accept terms and then quickly shifted hurting me as a client in many ways thereafter - his attitude towards his client was very unprofessional and he was very rude. It was the worst choice to trust them and I cannot recommend this firm for anything contract, IP, or any services in which it’s going to take diligence and effort to facilitate."
