From the beginning of my career, I have strived to be different than other lawyers. I emphasize education as the more I learn, the better of a lawyer I am, which translates into better results for my clients. Criminal Defense is extremely challenging as a lawyer and their client are facing the full power of the government, which doesn’t fight fairly. But by being educated in the science behind criminal charges and the art of persuasion, I can level that playing field for my clients. I am proud to be part of several great, nation-wide organizations such as: • National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers • National College for DUI Defense • DUI Defense Lawyers Association • Society of Forensic Toxicologists • American Chemical Society I am a Co-Founder of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association and 1 of 3 lawyer-scientists in the state of Pennsylvania (and 1 of 50 nation-wide). I became a lawyer-scientist because in the fields of DUI and drug defense, I decided I’d no longer be satisfied listening to local experts who say that blood tests and drug results cannot be challenged. Thus, I underwent extensive training across the country, including hands-on lab courses, to learn about the inaccuracies of blood and drug tests so that I can challenge them in court. I now use science in every type of criminal case where warranted. I am also constantly learning how to present this information to judges and juries so they can understand these inaccuracies and I can get better results for my clients. It is not enough to just know the law and do the minimum CLE credits per year to be an effective advocate for your clients. To be good at anything a person must constantly train and learn and that is what I do for my clients.
