About:

Layla is a Family Law attorney who practices law with compassion, integrity, and pragmatism. Family Law matters are inherently emotionally difficult, and this area of law called to Layla because she knew that her deep sense of empathy would best serve her clients. Layla has extensive experience in Family Law matters that involve domestic violence issues. While in law school, Layla was also employed at a domestic violence agency, initially performing Family Law related paralegal tasks. When she became a Certified Law Student, practiced law under the supervision of an attorney. After Layla became an attorney, the agency promoted her to the position of the Director of Legal Services. Layal earned her Juris Doctorate from Lincoln Law School in 2019. She graduated cum laude and received special recognition at graduation for her achievements. Layla also made the Dean’s List and earned the Faculty Achievement Award for earning the highest grade in her Family Law course. In 2019, Layla passed the California State Bar Exam on her first attempt. Layla ensures that her work product is prompt, scrupulous, and meticulous. She strives to be as efficient as possible and does what it takes to save her clients time, money, and heartache. Layla lives in rural El Dorado County with her husband and daughter on a small hobby farm with alpacas, sheep, chickens, two dogs, and two cats. She has a wide range of hobbies, including gardening, ATV riding, shopping, and animal husbandry. Additionally, Ms. Cordero is an avid car enthusiast. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, she was involved in 4H where her daughter and now-adult son showed their chickens and alpacas at the county and state levels. Lately, in her free time, she enjoys working on her land. Layla hopes to someday race (and beat) her husband on the racetrack. Layla's pet peeves include sloppy work, wasting time, and getting into cars that are low on gas. View More ›

DVLawyers AI Summary:

Laffey Real Estate is a well-established real estate firm based in Long Island, primarily focusing on helping clients with residential sales, rentals, and property management. While their main expertise lies in real estate transactions, they also offer relocation services and property management, aiming to make the home-buying and selling process as seamless as possible for their clients. The firm prides itself on its family-owned values and has built a strong reputation through years of dedicated service in the local community. The tone of Laffey Real Estate is professional yet approachable, emphasizing a supportive environment for their clients. They acknowledge the complexities involved in real estate decisions and aim to guide clients through each step with understanding and care. However, it is important to note that their services do not specifically target survivors of domestic violence or offer legal assistance in that area. For survivors seeking assistance related to domestic violence, such as legal representation or protective orders, it may be advisable to look for firms that specialize in family law or domestic violence advocacy, as they would be better equipped to provide the necessary support and guidance. If you are looking to buy or sell a home and need a trustworthy real estate partner, Laffey Real Estate could be a suitable option, provided you are comfortable with their focus and approach.

"Avoid this real estate agency. I bought a 1 bedroom Co-Op in Great Neck. Laffey prepared a selling sheet that included the Floor Plan that stated both kitchen and bath were full renovated. A complete falsehood. Totally and completely false. Interested in $ only. In less than 4 weeks: refrigerator replaced due to leak, now cook top has to be replaced. Bathroom floor: if not original, at least 30 years old. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid."

"Avoid agency & specifically Allison Platt. Attended Open House on 1 bedroom/bath Co-Op in Great Neck. Unit was empty (at least 6 months). All faucets checked (kitchen, bathroom, bathtub), burner on gas stove (worked). Oven: did not work and w/arm twisting the wall oven was fixed (originally told: parts hard to get). Real Estate Flyer stated bathroom renovated. However: floor tiles original. Now for the best part: the electricity was on in the unit.Including the refrigerator: which had been EMPTY. No way to know in advance that there is/was a defect with this major appliance. 2 days after moving in: water accumulation on top shelf refrigerator. "Bobby-the-Appliance-Guy" was suggested. Texted once. End result: new refrigerator ordered. $703 expense. Avoid this Real Estate Agency and specifically this real estate agent."

"I’d recommend my agent Jackie to anyone looking for their new home! She was incredible throughout the whole process. Patient, diligent, communicative and compassionate. She loves her job and she’s great at it! Moving is stressful…Jackie’s positive attitude and warmth rubs off on you! Wish I could leave more stars!!!"
