"It was a good dojo to go to as a kid. Classes were (and still probably are) every day, which is uncommon for most dojos. Lots of instructors with the opportunity to have a personal mentor. As such, you can progress with your skills and ranking (belts) based on the work you put in. Having come from smaller dojos where the Sensei was the primary & only instructor, it is a bit different at Richard Lee's. At Richard Lee's, I missed having a black belt teach the classes, and I missed the sense of community/team feel that comes with the same instructor teaching all classes. Richard Lee's is a bit more commercialized. Nonetheless, if you're looking to actually learn martial arts, Richard Lee's is probably the best in the business. But, a little bit of "soul" was lacking in my opinion. Last bit of feedback: why doesn't the team wear a regular gi? Never loved the t-shirt. Something I love about martial arts is the ritual of putting on my gi to get into the mindset of martial arts. Without it, I never felt right"

"My family and I have been training at EWKF for 18 months. We love it and my kids (my son started at 3.5 yo and my daughter at 4.5 yo) are doing so well within the school. I chose this school because I could attend with my kids. Ms Baker is the head of the school and has created the best community environment. The staff is so welcoming, kind, fun and professional. They are all amazing martial artists and even better humans and role models for us all. They challenge us to learn and understand the techniques and give us the "why" behind the moves. We have two local tournaments a year & a national tournament as well. They also host special tai chi seminars, corporate self- defense seminars, nunchucks lessons and teacher leadership workshops. We just had my son's birthday party here and everyone LOVED it. And my daughter attends summer camp here (super engaging and fun). My kids are learning leadership skills, becoming more confident and developing relationships with their fellow students. I would highly recommend scheduling 1st 5 lessons to see if it's the right fit for you and your family!"
