Ms. Zigtema is a Kansas City native, attending Notre Dame de Sion High School. Ms. Zigtema graduated from Georgetown University, Washington, DC with a double major in International Business and Finance prior to obtaining her law degree from the University of Kansas. During her time at KU, Ms. Zigtema worked for the Johnson County District Attorney's Office gaining trial experience in the adult felony division . After graduation, Ms. Zigtema entered into private practice Ms. Zigtema's practice is primarily focused on criminal, traffic and juvenile defense at all levels, from investigation to the Kansas Supreme Court. Ms. Zigtema also works in the Federal District of Kansas as a criminal defense lawyer. Ms. Zigtema's experience includes defense of offenses including first degree murder, sex offenses, drug/alcohol and property offenses. Ms. Zigtema has argued before the Kansas Court of Appeals and the Kansas Supreme Court.

"We were in desperate need of an attorney when we called Kate's office. We received a quick response and Kate was immediately willing to help us and even got us in front of the judge for an emergency hearing 48 hours after our initial call. She quickly consumed tons of information about our messy CINC case and showed up to court amazingly knowledgeable on it and ready to fight for us. We are well aware that many CINC cases end in heartbreak (and several attorneys we called wouldn't even take our case because of it) But after 6 months of working with Kate, we got what we hoped and prayed for. Although, even if we hadn't, we would still recommend Kate because she would have done/did everything possible to fight for us. Thank you, Kate!
