I worked at the Pace Women’s Justice Center, as a Staff Attorney. While at the Center, I helped to start Project Deter, a 24/7 program for victims of domestic violence, and was instrumental in launching the Family Court Legal Assistance Program. The model for the FCLAP, which provides a one-stop service network for victims of domestic violence (from petitioning for custody, to obtaining child support orders, to trying Family Offenses to gain orders of protections), has been widely imitated and is still operating today in both the White Plains and Yonkers Family Court. I helped author the Court of Appeals case, In Re: Afton C, which was widely published and continues to tackle difficult issues of law in appellate court practice.
