Kaliopi Vasiliou, Esq. Founder & Managing Attorney, Vasiliou Law – Queens, NY Kaliopi Vasiliou is a New York criminal defense, family law, and estate planning attorney with over 20 years of combined experience in the criminal justice system. Known for her compassionate yet strategic approach, she brings a rare background in forensic psychology and courtroom litigation to her clients across Queens and throughout New York State. Ms. Vasiliou earned her B.A. in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, graduating with honors. During her undergraduate years, she completed a clinical externship at Bayview Correctional Facility, where she counseled incarcerated women nearing release to help reduce recidivism. After graduation in 2007, she worked full-time as a court liaison for alternative-to-incarceration programs across New York City. In 2012, she received her Juris Doctor from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, focusing on New York Criminal Procedure and Estate Law. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2013. While in law school, Ms. Vasiliou completed a multi-year legal apprenticeship under veteran defense attorney Anastasios Sarikas, now in-house counsel at Vasiliou Law. In 2014, she completed the Deryl Dantzler Trial Practice Institute at the National Criminal Defense College, sharpening her courtroom advocacy and trial techniques. Since then, she has defended hundreds of clients facing DWI, assault, drug charges, custody disputes, probate proceedings, and more—earning a reputation for not guilty verdicts and favorable settlements. Ms. Vasiliou is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the NY State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers.
