"I hired Jason Stoves in August 2024 to represent me for a first-offense DUI. At first, he was very reliable and communicative. Under his direction, I pleaded guilty, took a plea deal, and agreed to complete the Alabama Court Referral Program and stay out of trouble. Unfortunately, I was arrested again in January 2025 for public intoxication and hired Mr. Stoves a second time. He successfully helped me get a pretrial diversion and pay a fine. The issues began after court for the public intoxication charge was over. Because of my new arrest, I violated my original DUI plea deal. Mr. Stoves worked with the prosecutor, and we agreed to a partial revocation—serving 2 days in jail instead of the original 90. At court, the judge warned me to come prepared to be taken into custody. On the day I went to turn myself in (as agreed), the judge said there was no record of any agreement about the 2-day sentence. He rescheduled me and told me to contact my lawyer. I immediately called Mr. Stoves, left a voicemail, and waited. Days went by—no response. I called again. Nothing. Over the next month, I left multiple voicemails and even contacted his receptionist. Silence. He finally called me back—the day before my rescheduled court date. The call was brief, and he sounded annoyed, like I was bothering him. He said he didn’t know what happened and couldn’t be there because of a scheduling conflict, but he’d send a colleague. The next day in court, I didn’t even know who to look for. Thankfully, his colleague spoke with the judge and got my 2-day jail time dismissed because of the confusion and my completed program. Weeks later, I received a letter saying my license was being suspended due to the DUI conviction. I called Mr. Stoves with a couple of questions to confirm what I thought I understood. To my surprise, he answered—but was extremely rude. The call lasted 1 minute and 11 seconds, and he rushed me off the phone. In total, over a year of working with him, I only called about a dozen times. I don’t think I was overbearing or unreasonable. I understand he has other clients and is busy, but being left completely in the dark for weeks at a time and then treated with disrespect is unacceptable—especially after I paid for his services. I’m not writing this to place blame. I take full responsibility for my actions that led me here. I’m in recovery now and working hard every day on patience, understanding, and growth. But respect should be mutual. At minimum, I expected the same respect I gave him."

"I am from out of state and was in need of an attorney in Alabama. I searched the web, liked what I read about Mr. Stoves, gave him a call. Through text and phone calls he was great about handling most of my issues before the court date. When I traveled back to Alabama for my court date, everything went very smoothly. Things turned out great. I appreciate all that he did. I would highly recommend him if you need an attorney."
