"Beautiful, convenient, immaculate, iconic hotel in the heart of Louisville. Unfortunately, if you desire hot water in your guestroom, you have a problem. The Galt House is huge; two high rise towers connected by a glass atrium bridge corridor that includes seating area and coffee shop. I have stayed at the hotel many times, primarily in the 80's and 90's. After an absence of several decades, I was thrilled and excited to return!! The hotel facilities are awesome; completely updated and refurbished. Certainly many nice upgrades since my last visit decades ago. Due to its massive size and convenient location to waterfront and downtown Louisville, the Galt House is extremely popular and busy. Always a vibrant atmosphere. Most likely there will be large groups and conventions occurring in the hotel. My guestroom was located in the tower across the street from the main tower, where registration is located. I was assigned an end room on the six floor (I love end rooms!). This was my first time staying in this tower, previously all my stays were in the original, main tower, where, if memory serves me correctly, the guestrooms are much larger. On my recent visit, my guestroom was average in size, the bath area was very large and had a two sink vanity, really nice! My guestroom was quiet and comfortable, with large windows looking out over the Ohio River and several bridges. For all practical purposes, The Galt House should be receiving a 5-star rating from me. However, the lack of hot water in the bathroom during the entire stay is responsible for my lower rating. As a frequent traveler, it is not uncommon to occasionally experience a situation when there is no hot water in a hotel. Generally, once reported to maintenance engineering the problem is resolved. If not possible to resolve, an apology from the hotel staff associates is protocol and you just have to deal with a day without a shower. In this case, the water in my room was tepid at best. With a 3:30 am wake-up call to start my work day, hot water and hot shower would have been greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, I got neither. When I reported this issue to the staff associates at the registration desk, they divulged their previous knowledge of the problem; apparently the further away the guestroom is from the source of hot water, the less hot you get. Anotherwords, the hotel is well aware of the issue and continue to put guests in rooms knowingly where there is no hot water. Hot water is very important to me, and the fact I was assigned a guestroom without it dampened my enthusiasm for the Galt House. Otherwise, The Galt House is a fantastic hotel. I highly recommend a visit here, but you should request a guestroom that includes hot water if you wish to shower or bathe."

"Hotel bed was comfortable. Water pressure was lackluster. Check in went smooth by check out staff was a bit less friendly. There was a mess up with valet pricing and it took 3 trips to the desk and 5 different answers to get it resolved. Photos made it look a bit nicer than I feel like it was. Price is definitely because of the location."

"They need to put up guard rails l to keep impatient people from illegally u-turning, hitting cars and pedestrians. For those who don't know the Galt House straddles a main road. Very unsafe if you have children."

"Hotel was nice enough and the employees were nice and polite. The elevators are a nightmare. Wait and wait and wait. A few of them were not working. Bed was OK but w didn't like the sheets.. they are "loud" as in they make a lot of noise when shifting or turning over. Also there was only a very thin blanket. I'm used to a comforter. The AC made noise at night and also the traffic was loud and somewhat bothersome at night. The restaurant and bar that we went to was very good. The hotel is in walking distance to most attractions and convention center."
