"We retained Hapin Lyu to represent a family member for criminal assault charges. She was able to help us secure a lighter sentencing than what was initially charged by the crown - resulting in a non-conviction with probation & no lasting criminal record if conditions are fulfilled. This result was the best that we could hope for, given the unfavorable facts in the police complaint. My family member is older and does not speak English very well, yet Hapin was able to smoothly communicate all of her legal advice in Mandarin Chinese. "I got a traffic ticket that came with a huge ding in points against my license. It's not that I was innocent, but the ticket was way beyond the offence, and this was not something I wanted to risk handling on my own. I found Mike, at Filkow Law, on-line. His reviews were good, so I gave him a call. He was good to deal with on the phone, so I took a chance on him. Mike did all the background work and, in the end, worked out an agreement with the officer that spared me the huge points ding. In the end, I believe we got the best results possible. Could I have done it myself? Maybe, but I felt much more confident having an objective party - experienced with traffic violations and courtroom etiquette - represent me, instead of representing myself. I could not be more happy with the end result. Mike was also good to deal with throughout the process: He kept me informed when there was new information, and was accessible when I had questions or suggestions.
