I'm attorney Elton Jenkins. Since 1999, I have practiced criminal law in Oklahoma. Growing up on the southwest side of Oklahoma City, I saw people close to me face criminal charges. I quickly learned why people accused of a crime need a lawyer on their side. Throughout my career, I have kept those experiences in mind. While I go to trial more often than many lawyers, I also know that sometimes a reasonable solution involves negotiation. By preparing carefully and presenting my client's case, I am often able to achieve alternative resolutions such as treatment and rehabilitation instead of jail time. For 12 years, I worked as a major crimes trial attorney for Oklahoma Indigent Defense System. During this time, I worked on 150 major crime cases a year such as sexual assault, robbery and murder. I have extensive experience defending clients against criminal charges that can result in life in prison. In addition to criminal law, I assist clients with family law and personal injury. I recently won a $1.2 million judgment in a car accident case that went to trial. My secretary is a critical part of the staff.
