"James Foord is a likeable person and a great lawyer. Conversely, he has the heart of a snake; he can let you down when a lying, biased and incompetent doctor, Dr. Ahmed, is harassing you without a court order, twenty years after the fact. He’ll take the money, but not work for you. I must be receiving the longest sentence for a self-defence fight in North America. Meanwhile, I believe I am innocent. Mr. Foord and I never discussed the mens rea of the charge, which I believe I don’t meet the requirement. Furthermore, I didn’t get to explain how often I was repeatedly charged at. Nothing like Dr. Ahmed going on for twenty years about how bad of a person I am, when I absolutely wasn’t crazy at the self defence fight to begin with. Looking back, Mr. Foord did me the disservice of a lifetime. A client may ‘assume’ Mr. Foord is arguing for them, when he taking them out to the pasture to die. He is the type of person who can’t see his own moral deficiency. Mr. Foord denied me the defence I wanted."

"James Foord is the best lawyer I've ever dealt with. The way he fought for not 1, not 2.. 5 of my cases was absolutely incredible. Arson, mischief, uttering threats & the list goes on. He was able to get me discharged on all 5 separate cases. I thought 100% I'd be doing at least a year in prison with everything going on. James was able to get me bail every single time & when it came down to fighting the case, he was as crafty as it gets. He's literally saved my family & business life. I'm able to get back to living a normal life as if nothing ever happened. On top of all of this, James has a very good & playful attitude. He's personable & easy to deal with. You don't get that "transactional feeling" that you would from other lawyers. He's the best lawyer in the country. I'm 5 for 5 thanks to James Foord 🙏"

"I had 2 impaired driving charges, the first I blew 150mg of alcohol/100ml of blood the second I blew 317mg, the two offences are 8 months apart, I was facing at least 30 month jail, 2.5+ years no driving and fines. James recommended that I do some volunteer work, psychologist session and alcohol counselling, for counselling I went to Rideauwood where I did 1 hour a week zoom sessions for 3 months with Dylan Young who was an amazing counsellor, I also joined the labours union which ended up helping me and got family and friends to write good letters for me which James also recommended. Typically if you end up going to trial, each case will cost you about 20k in total, but James ended up meeting with a judge to try to come to a resolution, he presented proof of all my progress, the judge was impressed and agreed on no jail time and an early resolution date for the 2 offenses, then instead of charging me 40k James asked for 17k for both offences, James also gave me A LOT of time to pay off the money. On the court date the judge gave me 2.5 years of no driving and 2 years to pay a 5200$ fine for both offences which is great for how bad my situation was, most people in my situation get jail time for at least 30 days. One thing to keep in mind is if you go with James, he might take some time getting back to you because he’s extremely busy. Great experience with James, one of the best lawyers in Ottawa, highly recommended."
