About:

For more than two decades, David has focused his career on matrimonial and family law matters. David is an experienced trial attorney handling complex divorce proceedings, including business valuations, custody disputes, high income alimony, child support proceedings, and equitable distribution of assets; including distribution of multi-faceted assets, business interests and deferred compensation. He has tried numerous family law matters, including domestic violence proceedings and custody and parenting time matters, as well as Appellate proceedings, post-judgment cohabitation, alimony modification applications, and change of circumstances motions and hearings. He handles cases in all aspects of mediation and arbitration, and is admitted in both New York and New Jersey. In addition to work in the civil courts, David provides cross-platform services for members of the observant Jewish populations of New York and New Jersey, who would prefer to adjudicate issues before the Rabbinical Courts. He has lectured at various religious institutions, and also serves as an advisor to several Rabbinical Courts in the same vein, advising as to the more complex aspects of civil laws relating to divorce, custody and support, and the interaction between civil and religious legal canons; assisting the Rabbinical Courts in reaching decisions that are fair and equitable in all respects. David is the co-author of both the 14th and 15th editions of the Domestic Violence chapter of the New Jersey Family Law Practice Series, the foremost Family Law treatise in use by family law practitioners in New Jersey, and has authored other articles on family law topics. "Review for Mr. McGlew and His Legal Team Going through a divorce is never easy, but mine lasted a while and came with more emotional and legal challenges than I could have imagined. I often referred to my case as “Wait! There’s more!” because of how endlessly complicated it became—not due to Mr. McGlew or his firm, but because of the difficult circumstances and the other party involved. Throughout it all, Mr. McGlew was a steady, compassionate, and incredibly skilled presence in my life. He was patient, kind, and attentive, always taking the time to listen and offer sound, thoughtful advice. He never made me feel like a case number. Instead, he treated me with dignity, respect, and genuine care. On the days I felt like giving up, he gave me hope. When I became ill during the process, he went out of his way to check on me—not just as a client, but as a human being. Mr. McGlew fought for me during one of the lowest points in my life. His experience and calm, reassuring guidance helped me navigate the many twists and turns of a long and painful journey. I am incredibly grateful to have had him by my side and highly recommend him to anyone in need of a strong, compassionate, and truly dedicated attorney."

"Jane B. Simpson is an amazing family lawyer at Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper that has been by my side during my divorce process with a complicated future ex wife. She’s great at managing the cases, advocating for her clients and putting families first. I will definitely recommend working with Jane as I already have recommended her to other people dealing with complicated cases, she will make it happen."

"The legal team at Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper, P.C., specifically attorney David Tawil, were very helpful and supportive during my divorce. David was patient and worked with me for over two years to get my divorce finalized (a delay not caused on our end). Thank you, David!"

"Nicole Kobis has been a life saver. She has been my lawyer since March 2023 assisting me through the entire divorce process from start to finish. She is calm, confident, honest and reassuring under stressful circumstances. I found the firm and her paralegal to be organized and helpful. Still now years later she is helping to protect my interests and fight to uphold the integrity of my martial settlement agreement."

"Asked to take on a wage and hour case that the owner admitted not paying the right hourly rate or overtime and I was told it was too hard to take. I wonder what they do take. Must be just settlements out of court. Because I can't see them being any good in court if they can't take a did you pay a person or not. And that comes from a relative of one of the owners of the firm so sad."
