I am Dave L. Simmons, and I practice law at the Law Offices of Dave L. Simmons, P.A. in Broward County, where I have been working in the criminal justice field for nearly 28 years. My academic journey began at Florida State University, where I graduated cum laude with a degree in Communications. Following this, I pursued legal studies at Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad Law School and earned my Juris Doctor degree. After completing law school, I served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Broward County State Attorney’s Office and later as an Assistant Public Defender for the Broward County Public Defender’s Office. My tenure in these positions provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the judicial system in Broward County, as I handled both misdemeanor and felony cases from both prosecutorial and defense perspectives. This experience has given me a broad perspective and the ability to assert a strong defense for my clients. Upon leaving the State Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Public Defender, I dedicated my private practice to defending individuals accused of criminal offenses. Over the past 23 years, I have represented thousands of clients facing charges ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. I am committed to leveraging my knowledge and experience to provide the strongest defense possible and to achieve the best outcomes for my clients. I am a member of the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and maintain good standing with The Florida Bar and the Supreme Court of Florida. I am also rated “Excellent” by Avvo. My extensive background in both defending and prosecuting cases uniquely positions me to represent my clients effectively in the complex landscape of criminal law.
