"I hired Hilary Hale to represent me in a civil lawsuit against me. I spoke with her on a Thursday (2/27) for our initial consultation she stated that she had a pressing case but that she would be in contact with me the following week (3/3). On 3/2 my previous attorney reached out to say that there was a hearing that took place without notice to my new legal council and as such I needed to talk with Hilary about this. At that time I reached out to opposing council and explained their error (lack of notification for one) and I'll admit that I wasn't civil about it. Then later that same week (again with no word from Hilary) another attorney emailed me a copy of legal brief and stated that he represented a 3rd party in the case. When I pressed him for more information he refused to answer any questions (my question was asking if he could explain the brief he filed in non legal terms) because I was represented by Ms. Hale. This confused me because I was paying for him to represent this 3rd party without my knowledge or consent. When I finally reached out to Ms. Hale on 3/6 asking for the update I was promised on 3/3, she stated she was in a CLE class and that we would be in touch the following week. She also asked me to stop contacting both opposing attorneys (on 3/6) which I did. The following week I again heard nothing until 3/10 when she emailed me a letter terminating our agreement and she cited my previous contact with opposing council and she stated that I continued to contact them after her asking me not to do so - which is false. When I explained that I hadn't reached out to anyone since her email reply to me on 3/6, along with proof from my sent folder, I got no reply and now I'm forced to seek new and competent council. So not only did she not keep her word about reviewing the case and getting back to me in a timely matter, she also went radio silent except to say she could no longer represent me despite me showing her I honored her request. Personally, I would use caution before considering hiring them for other legal matters in the future."
