"Chris Perri is - in my opinion - the most talented habeas attorney in Texas. While I recommend you hire Chris before your family or friend needs a habeas attorney - Chris Perri is who to go to if that person had an incompetent trial attorney or if new evidence has come to light. For me as a Republican to think so highly of a former Democratic congressional candidate should say something. Competence trumps politics. It goes beyond saying looking for a habeas attorney is not the same as getting a traffic ticket attorney. I recommend any family member or friend to review Mr. Perri’s briefs in the Texas appellate courts. Win loss records are tough to glean in Texas since almost all won cases are expunged. However, there is one really cool statistic that is true as of the date of my review. For writs of habeas corpus (do a partial search of WR and then Perri at the CCA website), Chris has 6 pending cases out of a total of 18. Most of the other habeas attorneys with notable Google presences as in the range of 1 or 2 pending cases out of like 50 total cases. Find me an attorney in Texas with a better publicly available writ percentage. I don’t think you can. Furthermore, that percentage cannot include the won cases because of expungement law. Furthermore, I urge you to go in and look at even the cases Chris has lost. We’re talking writs of habeas corpus here - not getting a lawyer to sign you up for defensive driving. Every single case that is challenged by local officials has an objection. Furthermore, almost every single case has gotten at least an independent review by the CCA. This does not happen with most lawyers much less those who go pro se. Chris has a vetting process which is easier on the budget and fair. Finances aside, this protects your loved one from having a poorly written writ actually filed and you then have no more realistic bites at the apple for your family member or friend. I have paid Chris for a charitable writ of habeas corpus case that is still pending (it is for the 1 client of Chris Perri’s that is not in TDC) at a discounted rate. (In the anticipation of potential ultimate victory and expungement, I am not posting the case name in this review. However, even if the final outcome is adverse, I know Chris put up the best fight of any attorney and I know his client has and will have all of Mr. Perri’s briefs to deal with any potential future background issues while the case is pending or if God forbid there is an adverse outcome in a system designed not to allow writs to be considered easily.)"

"Chris Perri is the attorney to go to in Austin for anything Criminal Law related. I had an issue that had been haunting me for over a decade and Chris reached out to me by phone and talked with me about my case and thoroughly explained the process. He wasn’t pushy, wasn’t aggressive, wasn’t overpriced like most attorneys I had interacted with before him. He was actually quite personable and down to earth and easy to talk to. If I had any questions he was very prompt to respond by email. If I have any future issues, I know who to go to!"

"Where my last lawyer failed, Chris prevailed. Battled getting my record expunged for over 5 years with a budget attorney before giving up. Should have called Chris from day one. Responded to my emails within 24 hours and gave clear-cut advice. Glad to have my issue resolved finally would recommend him to anyone needing an expungement."
