About:

In 2007, Brett Appelman established Appelman Law LLC with the primary mission of safeguarding the rights of individuals accused of crimes. His fundamental belief is in providing the highest quality legal defense to all defendants, irrespective of the charges they face. Brett personally manages the most complex cases at the firm, which encompass a wide range of offenses, from Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, and Aggravated Sexual Assault to individuals facing repeated DUI charges. His successful defense record extends across various crimes, including but not limited to DUI, Aggravated Battery, Solicitation, Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery, Tax Evasion, and Felony Drug Possession and Delivery. Hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Brett pursued his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan. Subsequently, he obtained a Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, followed by his legal education at the University of Wisconsin. Prior to founding his firm, Brett commenced his career as an Assistant Public Defender in Kane County, Illinois. During this tenure, he adeptly defended numerous DUI and Driving While Suspended cases, alongside a wide array of Misdemeanors. Notably, in Kane County, Brett also served as the defense attorney on the Treatment Alternative Court board, a specialized mental health court. An extraordinary highlight of Brett's career unfolded in 2016 when he secured a Not Guilty By Reason Of Insanity verdict in a felony trial. This pivotal win occurred in a case where his client faced extensive prison time for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. View More ›
