"My case was dismissed thanks to this law firm! I have no doubt had I gone with a court appointed attorney I would be back in TDCJ or on probation for a long time. This law firm and Mario Moreno(my attorney with the firm) are worth every penny. They are also fair and upfront about pricing."

"I gave this firm one star solely because of my intake with Mr. Barton. He was very professional, confident, and accommodating, even offering me a veteran discount, which I appreciated. However, once I paid, the quality of service went downhill fast. I was first assigned Byron Burkett, who was difficult to reach, distracted, and forgot critical details about my case—even after we spent an hour reviewing them. I understand they’re a busy firm, but when you pay thousands of dollars, you expect someone to know your name and your case. I was later given another attorney (who I won’t name), and while she was kind, she was unprepared for my Hayes County custody hearing. That morning, she was very unprepared researching cross-examination questions on ChatGPT and discussing someone ELSEs case on her phone while sitting in a court house with me. She performed decently well in court but lacked communication, preparation, and strategy. This firm failed to file a counter-petition in my custody case, and after switching lawyers, I discovered they had done nothing meaningful on my docket. They nearly locked me into an inflated child support amount because they didn’t account for my Arizona state taxes (unlike Texas, which has none). They were prepared to agree to a child support number that would have broke me financially without doing proper research on what my options were and they did not fight for me to actually get my child. They took a-lot of money and honestly simply handled me very poorly. Thankfully I have my son and a new legal team but it’s sad I’ve come this far and had to fire them in the middle of a case. It was truly THAT BAD. I believe Barton Law might be fine for criminal or insurance cases, but for family law or child custody, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. When I tried to escalate concerns to Mr. Barton directly, I was told it would cost $600–$700 per hour just to speak with him. Ultimately, I paid a lot of money with very little outcome. Their lack of action and preparation left me in a worse situation with my child than before. If you do intake with Mr. Barton, understand that he will likely not handle your case—less experienced associates will, if your case is sentimental or very important to you then I recommend someone else. I have never left a review on anyone before and and I wanted so stay with this firm so desperately but they simply Could not get it together and it was costing me my child and livelihood."
